Drug Free Communities

Through the Drug-Free Communities Support Mentoring Program, support is provided by the U.S. Department of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, to an existing coalition for the purpose of mentoring a new coalition. In our region, the Groton Adolescent Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition (GASP) provides support to new coalitions in Norwich and Waterford.

NORSAP-The Norwich Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition

Our mission: The Norwich Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition Mission is to promote awareness of addictive behaviors through the development and coordination of prevention programs for a healthy and responsible living among our youth.

In October of 2005, the NORSAP Coalition was formed to address substance abuse among youth in the City ofNorwich. The coalition represents a collaboration of several dedicated, local agencies, parents, teens and other interested community members:
