Radon

The State of Connecticut Department of Public Health maintains a list of individuals and organizations licensed to conduct radon inspection and abatement activities.

Radon is a naturally occurring gas produced by the breakdown of uranium in soil, rock and water. This gas is drawn into your home through cracks or other openings in the foundation. The Surgeon General has warned that radon gas is the second leading cause of lung cancer in The United States. The Uncas Health District provides mitigation guidance and educational materials.

Uncas Health District has radon test kits and materials FREE to the residents for Bozrah, Montville, Norwich and Sprague. For more details on how to obtain this FREE kit, please call 823-1189 or stop by our office which is located at 401 W. Thames Street, Suite 106, Norwich, CT 06360.
